THE ORAL EXAM

The oral exam is a crucial step in the oral health of our clients.  This exam helps us to find any disease process that may be present such as decay, gum disease and oral cancer. All new clients receive a comprehensive exam and x-rays to assist us in forming a dental treatment plan for complete and thorough treatment. A periodic exam with 2 bitewing x-rays are completed once a year to review treatment that has been completed and check for any new problems that may have possibly occurred.

ORAL CANCER
Cancer is defined as the uncontrollable growth of cells that invade and cause damage to surrounding tissue. Oral cancer appears as a growth or sore that does not go away. Oral cancer, which includes cancers of the lips, tongue, cheek, floor of the mouth, hard and soft palate, sinuses, and pharynx (throat), can be life threatening if not diagnosed and treated early.
